Cancellation & Refund Policy

Clear, honest, and transparent guidelines regarding booking cancellations and the refund process.

Last Updated: 24 July 2026

1. General Cancellation Terms

At Baanu Holidays, we strive to offer the best planning and booking experience for your Jim Corbett trip. We understand that plans can change. However, as we book third-party services (safaris, resorts, and transport) on your behalf, our cancellation policy strictly follows the guidelines set by the respective vendors and the Forest Department.

All cancellation requests must be sent to us in writing via email or WhatsApp from the registered contact details used at the time of booking.

2. Safari Cancellation Policy

Please note that all Jim Corbett National Park safari permits are regulated by the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Therefore, the following rules apply:

  • 100% Non-Refundable: Once a Jeep Safari, Canter Safari, or Dhikala Night Stay permit is booked and generated, the Forest Department does not allow any refunds or cancellations.
  • Non-Transferable: Safari permits are issued against specific ID proofs (Aadhar, Passport, etc.). They cannot be transferred to another person's name or shifted to a different date or zone.

In short, the safari permit amount is entirely non-refundable once booked.

3. Resort & Hotel Cancellation Policy

For resort and forest rest house accommodations booked through Baanu Holidays, the cancellation charges will be applicable as follows (unless specified otherwise by a specific premium resort during peak season):

  • More than 30 days prior to arrival: 25% of the total booking amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • 15 to 30 days prior to arrival: 50% of the total booking amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • 7 to 15 days prior to arrival: 75% of the total booking amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • Less than 7 days prior to arrival / No Show: 100% of the total booking amount will be charged (No Refund).

4. Complete Tour Package Cancellation

If you have booked a complete package (Safari + Stay + Transport), the safari component remains 100% non-refundable. The refund for the remaining components (resort and transport) will be calculated based on the timeline mentioned in Section 3 above.

5. Unforeseen Circumstances (Force Majeure)

Baanu Holidays and the Forest Department reserve the right to cancel safaris or alter itineraries without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Heavy rainfall, floods, or natural disasters.
  • Sudden administrative orders by the Forest Department (e.g., closing a zone for VIP movement or animal safety).
  • Strikes or political unrest.

In such cases where the Forest Department cancels the safari officially, we will process the refund as per the government's standard operating procedure (subject to their refund initiation). For resort stays impacted by weather, we will try to negotiate a postponement with the resort, but final decisions lie with the resort management.

6. Refund Process

Approved refunds will be processed using the original method of payment. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for the credited amount to reflect in your bank account once the refund is initiated from our end.
